Getting Started

I've had this account for a while and not really done anything with it, which is silly. I have a Myspace and a private Facebook page and an official Facebook Page and Last.fm and Flickr and, most importantly, my own proper website where I have a news blog and a separate Pop Diaries section where I write about gigs and recording. I'm a pop star. Well, I'm not yet, because I'm neither massively popular nor massively famous, but I write pop songs and am loath to say I'm a singer songwriter, even though I sing my own songs, because it implies that I sit down with a guitar or piano and am all quiet and earnest, which isn't that accurate. I like Doctor Who a lot. I've played festivals all over the UK, which is fun. I've had some radio play. I have written various zines, my current one being a free minizine called Mini Classic and I present a new music podcast called Instant Classic. I do all this stuff because I want to.

I think I'll use this space more often in future. Certainly to post songs and ideas... That's me, anyway. I love the internets. Say hello. I've posted a few songs - a couple of very shaky live acoustic tracks from a radio session, and some better demo recordings. I'm working on an album at the moment and frantically recording and re-recording and changing stuff and am pretty much not happy yet with anything recorded. Please bear that in mind.
